Introduction of commonly used root canal files

Contents

A correct understanding of the root canal files is of great help to our case operation. Different files may be used for different cases.

Below is the introduction of commonly used root canal files.

The material of root canal files is stainless steel or nickel-titanium.

Stainless steel files are not elastic, while nickel-titanium files are flexible and are more suitable for curved root canals. Stainless steel files have more cutting force, but less breaking resistance. Compared with the NITI files is easy to break, and NITI files is not easy to break, which is safer. However, the cutting force of nickel-titanium files is weaker and less efficient than stainless steel files.

Root canal files are divided into hand use files and rotary files.

Rotary files

Rotary files need to install on the contra angle to work. To help us prepare root canals in a more comfortable and practical way, that is, to use them as a supplement to aid in root canal treatment.

Sup-taper files

Protaper system is the most popular rotary files system in the world. Rogin has taken the system one step further. The addition of Heat activation technology inherits the advantages of the ProTaper system and results in better system Sup-Taper files! It is made of high quality NITI alloy with Heat activation Treatment. It can pre-curved suitable for curved canals.

Shaping files:

SX: Use for open. Being the shortest of all files, only 19mm.

S1: Assist in opening the canal, with an apical diameter of 0.17mm.

S2: Clean and prepare the middle of the root canal, with an apical diameter of 0.20mm.

Finishing files:

F1~F5: Used for finishing after molding, is fixed taper. We have different recommended torque and speed for different models, please refer to the label.

SUPER FLEXI FILES

This is a root canal file developed by our company. SUPER FLEXI FILES is a simple but effective rotary system. Fixed taper 04 and 06, smaller taper is more suitable for countries in Asia and the Middle East. Special heat treatment to make it in gold color, and with a very unique flexibility.

The cross-section is similar to W file, but the screw direction is different, so that it has the cutting force of W file, and the chip-throwing capacity is also better than W file.

01# – 9% use for open

20# – 4% / 25# – 4% use for narrow canal

30# – 4% use for medium canal

35# – 4%/25% – 6% use for wide canal

Hand use files

There are mainly three types: K file, H file and R file.

K files

The k file is square in cross section. K files has moderate cutting force and is the best-selling among the three KINDS of K,H,R files.

H files

The h file is round in cross section. H file has strong cutting force and high efficiency, but it is easy to damage the root canal wall. H-files are specially designed for shaping canals after they are previously cleaned and enlarged with K-files in root canal treatment.

R files

The REAMER is Triangle in cross section. For safe root canal preparation with a reaming motion.
